Reimagining the Systems Behind Sport & Fitness

People love sports. For many, athletics help make life healthier and happier. Yet there are many ways in which the world of sport could and should be improved: from injury prevention and care, to the culture of youth sports, to how sports are covered in the media.

The Sport and Humanity Hub challenges students to think critically about the role of sports in society—and what it would mean to make sports more humane.

Where your Passion meets purpose

Whether you’re pursuing a career as a physical therapist, sports journalist, coach, lawyer, public health official,  marketing executive or community advocate, this is your launching pad. Here, you won’t just study sports — you’ll dig into the systems, stories, and structures that shape them, and discover how you can make them better.

With connections to fields like history, psychology, business, economics, sociology, media, health and exercise science, disability studies and more, the Hub gives you the tools to find your unique place in the world of sport.

Students will gain hands on experience

Meet diverse industry experts, engage in internships, on-campus employment, and off-campus shadowing experiences. Develop the critical thinking and advocacy skills needed to challenge what isn’t working and  consider how they might be transformed.
