In appreciation of our faculty and staff, we are continuing a summer hours program designed to provide you with some well-deserved extra time off, and more time for your well-being and re-invigoration.
Half-Day Fridays 2026
The Summer Hours Program (half-day Fridays) will begin on Friday, June 5, and will continue through Friday, August 7. All offices will close by 12:30 p.m. each Friday during that time with these exceptions:
Friday, June 19 (the college is already closed in observance of Juneteenth)
Friday, July 10 (the college is closed July 6-10 for summer break)
While some offices may need to remain open on Friday afternoons with minimal staffing for the duration of normal operating hours, alternative flextime may be arranged with supervisor approval. We will return to normal business hours on Fridays beginning the week of Monday, August 10.
Summer Break Week
The college will be closed from Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 giving all employees a “summer break” —an entire week off.

Our remote work policy will remain in place in its current 3/2 format during this timeframe, which means all employees are expected to be in the office three days per week in accordance with your department’s remote work policy agreement. Half-day Fridays cannot be added to your remote work agreement as an additional work from home day.
All departments will submit new remote work agreements beginning August 10.
If you have a previously scheduled day off, the full day must be reported as vacation day, wellness day, or floating holiday. If you are out of the office due to illness, the full day must be reported as sick.
For hourly non-exempt employees, you must include the “Summer Flex Hours” timecode within your Oracle timesheet to be paid for this time.
For salaried exempt employees, you must use a newly developed code to record usage.
These Oracle codes are critical for us to understand the utilization of this benefit and plan for the future.
