Uniquely Ursinus.

At Ursinus, we utilize the Social Model of Disability. We embrace disability as a natural part of human diversity and are  committed to creating a new context and culture for disability.

To achieve this, we strive to mitigate competitive disadvantages and environmental barriers through incorporating universal design principles across all aspects of campus life, services, and programs. We provide individualized accommodations when environmental barriers cannot be eliminated and provide a holistic approach of support, at no additional cost,  in which we collaborate with partners across campus foster independent, self-determined, and engaged students.

Through our holistic approach, we work to remove environmental barriers and promote equitable access for all students. We also recognize that navigating college doesn’t always come naturally—especially when balancing academics, independence, and new responsibilities. We provide the structure, guidance, and support students need to thrive in college.

The Office of Disability and Access at Ursinus College is dedicated to offering an environment where all students feel affirmed, respected, welcome, and safe.
