Executive Function Coaching

With executive function coaching students have the opportunity to engage with a learning specialist with expertise in executive function management. The first session begins with a comprehensive self-assessment to identify your strengths, challenges, and habits. From there, we set personalized goals and develop strategies to support time management, organization, focus, and follow-through. Whether you’re overwhelmed by deadlines or struggling to stay motivated, this one-on-one support empowers you to take control of your academic life with structure, accountability, and confidence.

To ensure consistent student support and equitable access, the following expectations apply to all scheduled meetings with the Learning Specialist/Executive Function Coaches.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Requirements:

  • Students must notify the Learning Specialist by email if they need to cancel or reschedule their weekly meeting.
  • Notice must be given at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time unless there is an emergency.
  • Same-day cancellations count as a no-show, unless due to documented emergencies.
  • Exceptions may be made for documented emergencies or circumstances outside the student’s control.
  • Students should communicate as soon as reasonably possible.

No-Show Policy:

First No-Show:
  • The Learning Specialist will send a reminder of the policy.
  • The missed session will not be automatically rescheduled; the student must request a new time.
Second No-Show
  • The student may be temporarily blocked from booking additional sessions.
  • A meeting may be required to discuss barriers to attendance and to reset expectations.
  • Coaching privileges may be suspended for the remainder of the term.
  • The student will receive a written notice outlining alternative available supports.

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching is a program where students can have the opportunity to engage with a staff member in structured meetings throughout the semester to learn strategies to enhance executive functioning skills such as time management and organization, study skills, test-taking skills, and strategies for communicating with professors. Academic Coaching sessions are individualized to meet student needs and can focus on a variety of topics including social skills, and overall adjusting to the college environment.
