All students engage in APEX Experiential Learning Week each March, prior to spring break. Experiences grow in complexity each year as students work in teams to address real world problems. Students may work closely with faculty on campus or community projects, visit and interact with area employers, or travel nationally or internationally to do global career exploration during their sophomore year. All experiences are linked to the Innovation Hubs and Centers and are included in the regular tuition, room, and board.

GOALS OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING WEEK

By the end of the week each student will:
  • Add tangible skills to their resume
  • Use the open questions to reflect on their career goals
  • Identify problems of interest to them and gain an understanding of how they can be addressed in different contexts
  • Gain confidence in communicating to different audiences
We simulated sales calls, discussed game themes, and learned how to drive fan engagement and attendance. It was a great hands-on experience that gave me insight into the business and sales side of professional sports.
