Track new skills, achievements and competencies that are in high demand by employers and align with the 8 core competencies outlined by NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Earn badges to demonstrate verified competencies.

You have participated, led, learned, and developed professional skills… now it is time to reflect on your experiences, and get LinkedIn ready. Through earning badges (highly valued by employers) and engaging in co-curricular experiences, you will be resume-ready and ready to craft your own value proposition to employers.

APEX Connect is a student engagement platform that will allow Ursinus students to track cocurricular activities and their professional development. Students will earn badges linked to the NACE competencies (see below) as well as Ursinus-specific achievements.

Students can use the platform to seek out opportunities that align with their interests and can choose to share badges and a cocurricular transcript with future employers.

The purpose of APEX Connect is to help students see the connection between their experiences across campus and their self-development.

Career readiness is, quite simply, the new career currency.
Career readiness is a foundation from which to demonstrate requisite core competencies that broadly prepare the college educated for success in the workplace and lifelong career management. For new college graduates, career readiness is key to ensuring successful entrance into the workforce.

For higher education, career readiness provides a framework for addressing career-related goals and outcomes of curricular and extracurricular activities, regardless of the student’s field of study. For employers, career readiness plays an important role in sourcing talent, providing a means of identifying key skills and abilities across all job functions; similarly, career readiness offers employers a framework for developing talent through internship and other experiential education programs.

With APEX Connect, Ursinus is preparing you to start becoming resume-ready from Day 1.

APEX Connect makes it easy to document all the learning, leadership, and involvement you do both inside and outside the classroom. As you participate in events, join clubs, take on leadership roles, volunteer and complete badges, APEX Connect automatically tracks your experiences and organizes them into your profile. You can then download these records and use them when updating your resume, preparing for interviews, and applying for internships or jobs. Think of it as a living involvement transcript that helps you tell your Ursinus Story!

What is NACE?

Established in 1956, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is the professional association that connects college and university career services professionals and early talent recruiters to businesses and industry solution providers. NACE is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated, and forecasts hiring and trends in the job market; tracks starting salaries, recruiting and hiring practices, and student attitudes and outcomes; and identifies best practices and benchmarks.
