Learning Goals

Upon graduation, Ursinus College students minoring in Disability Studies will be able to:

  1. Students will understand the history of disability and the evolution of disability rights
  2. Students will apply knowledge from various disciplines to understand disability as a social construction
  3. Students will recognize the systemic barriers that contribute to inequality, such as inaccessible environments, discriminatory policies, and social stigma
  4. Students will be able to critically analyze media, technology, language, and policy using a disability studies lens
  5. Students will become better prepared to help create accessible and inclusive workplaces, schools, and communities
