The Disability Studies minor provides students with an interdisciplinary perspective of how we define disability and how disabled individuals face barriers to full inclusion in society. This minor will benefit students preparing for a variety of careers who will work with people with disabilities (e.g., education, business, health professions), create products that will be used by people with disabilities (e.g., engineering, entrepreneurs), or deal with policy that affects people with disabilities (e.g., politics, law).
The Disability Studies minor consists of 20 credits:
- DSST-100 and 400
- 16 elective credits
At least 12 of the 20 credits for the minor must be in addition to credits already counting toward the student’s major(s) and/or another minor.

Capstone courses, special topics courses, and independent study courses may also count toward the minor when the topic is appropriate, with prior approval from the coordinator.
