Facilities Improvements

There have been several significant upgrades to Patterson Field in recent years. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have been able to replace the turf, resurface the track around the field, and install a state-of-the-art scoreboard with video capabilities.

We hope to keep the momentum going for Patterson Field improvements. We are currently raising funds to upgrade our bleachers and our press box.

Several naming opportunities are available, including for the scoreboard, which carries prominent college-wide visibility.

The Floy Lewis Bakes Field House and adjacent facilities is Ursinus’s hub for athletics and health and wellness offerings. Upgrades in this area elevate Ursinus Athletics and benefit the entire student body. With donor support, we hope to:

• Resurface and redesign the field house floor, as well as add more UC branding, and upgrade equipment.
• Upgrade concession stands and bathrooms, and add new furniture and equipment.

Located in FLB, the William Elliott Pool is home to our men’s and women’s swimming teams and is open year-round to students and employees. The pool also hosts the “Little Bear” swimming lessons for the families in the local community.

To maintain this popular facility for use by the college and community, we need to re-tile and provide general enhancements for the pool and pool deck.

In 2023, with the support of donors, we made crucial upgrades to the Ursinus’s tennis courts, as well as adding eight pickleball courts as well, bringing the popular sport to campus for our college and local community. Naming rights opportunities for the courts are still available.

Ursinus fans routinely pack the stands at Helfferich Gymnasium to create a tremendous gameday atmosphere. We hope to continue to upgrade the fan experience at Helfferich with new bleachers on both sides of the gym, as well as add all new state-of-the art scoreboards.

The locker room is where student-athletes unite to celebrate wins, learn from losses, and push each other toward excellence. Maintaining and refreshing these spaces for new generations of athletes is essential.

Ursinus is in the process of renovating locker rooms for several teams. Many have been completed but we are still looking to upgrade our primary men’s room bay, both locker rooms for the swimming teams, and some additional rooms used by coaches and officials.
