PERSIST (Partnerships for Engagement, Resilience, and Support through Interdisciplinary STEM Teamwork) is designed to help talented students thrive in STEM through a combination of financial support, faculty mentoring, and hands-on, collaborative learning experiences.

PERSIST: Scholarships in STEM provides up to $15,000 of unmet need to full-time, residential students interested in biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, chemistry, neuroscience, physics, computer science, or pre-engineering.

In addition to financial support, PERSIST scholars, join a supportive student cohort and benefit from faculty mentoring, academic support, and experiential learning—building the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their major and future STEM career.

How to Apply

  1. For consideration, students should apply to the college by March 13.
  2. Complete the online application by March 15. 
  3. Finalist interviews will be held virtually later this spring.

Eligibility

To be eligible for PERSIST: Scholarships in STEM at Ursinus, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Meet US citizenship or residency requirements as established by NSF (determined by Student Financial Services);
  • Intend to be a residential student
  • Plan to major in one of the following fields in their application to Ursinus: biochemistry and molecular biology, biology, chemistry, computer science, neuroscience, physics, or pre-engineering
  • Demonstrate financial need and are Pell-eligible as determined by the FAFSA
