This Minor in Comparative and Global Literatures is designed to reflect contemporary trends in humanistic scholarship as it teaches and encourages students to study, compare, and analyze materials from different cultures, media and/or historical periods. This interdisciplinary and global perspective on the study of literature - across linguistic, historical and national boundaries - helps students reflect on the core questions, especially “How should we live together?” and “How can we understand the world?”, crucial questions in our interconnected world. Students pursuing a minor in Comparative and Global Literatures will have the opportunity to work with professors from a wide variety of departments and programs in the Humanities, further developing their critical thinking skills and research methodologies.
