The Justice and Community Collective explores pressing social issues facing both local and global communities through informed community engagement and humanistic inquiry. As the role and agency of human beings evolve in a world increasingly shaped by technology, this hub emphasizes what remains uniquely human and irreplaceable: human experience and the work of building community.

At its core, the hub centers ethical thinking, creativity, and intercultural and interpersonal communication—demonstrating that human literacy—knowing and understanding each other—is essential for meaningful work in the world, especially in careers dedicated to justice and service to others. It bridges the classroom with community-based projects and partnerships, offering support to faculty, staff, and students engaged in this innovative, collaborative work.
